WALLEYE
OF A LIFETIME –
Randy McLeod reeled in this monster last Thursday evening while
fishing off his dock at Deep Creek Lake. The walleye weighed 8
pounds and was just over 30 inches long. McLeod said he was using
a large minnow for bait. Rather than having it for dinner or
mounted for hanging on his wall, McLeod threw the fish back,
saying that he supports the idea of catch and release, especially
with bigger fish. "I hope this one will pass along her genes
and lay another million eggs in the lake," he said,
adding that he does like to "keep a few smaller fish for the
frying pan."
